Curtain Wall
Curtain Wall is called "Vorhangwand" in German and "Murrideau" in French”

It means "curtain wall" or "hanging wall",
and “barrier layer” in construction terminology.

In other words, “barrier layer” is a non-bearing wall that does not bear the weight of building. This wall can partition the space structurally just like the curtain and also easy to dismount. Frame of building is made with column, beam, slab, and roof and these bear the self-weight of building and weight applied to the building, and then the walls are put in or attached. Therefore, it should bear the wind pressure and impact. Also, waterproofing, heat insulating, soundproofing, durability are required for the exterior material and external design is a decisive factor.

In Korea, it was applied to the Trade Center located in Hoehyeon-dong, Seoul. It was influenced by the United States and Japan in early days, but it has been improved and developed into Korean way. Nowadays, curtain wall system is applied to the exterior of many buildings
